LEID Products Attending ALA Conference to Collaborate with Librarians on Expanding Library’s Reach to the Community
Auburn Hills, MI (PRWEB) June 24, 2015 -- LEID Products, LLC, the leader of electronic locker and cabinet storage with biometric asset protection and control, today announced details of its attendance at the upcoming 2015 American Libraries Association (ALA) Conference, taking place June 25 – 30 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. LEID Products will showcase its iLibrary System in booth 2128.
The ALA is the oldest and largest library association in the world and the annual conference provides attendees with innovative ideas, strategies, and techniques to better serve their communities. One of the biggest challenges for library administrators today is finding innovative ways to expand outreach of their library facility, while working with budgets which have remained restrictive.
LEID Products offers a field proven and cost effective solution to expand library hours and reach without the cost and burden of a traditional brick and mortar library location or book mobile. LEID’s solution includes tamperproof Access.it Electronic Modular Access Units, with the option to add an iLibrary Kiosk to access the library website. Patrons browse and order materials online or directly through the iLibrary kiosk, and when reserving materials, the patron is prompted to select the pick-up location of their choice. Patrons are notified via phone call or email when materials are available for pick up. Patrons can pick up materials at any time by swiping their library card and/or entering a code into the keypad.
Sometimes referred to as a ‘Library Express’ or ‘Library Outpost,’ the iLibrary System provides communities with complete self-service access to library materials. LEIDs iLibrary System can be placed at the location of the library for after-hours pick up of library holds, or at other locations convenient for patrons - community centers, retirement communities, commuter stations, malls, etc.
LEID Products library sales have increased substantially in the past year, driven in part by the company’s reputation for outstanding U.S. based support and service. In years past library administrators found offering this service to be cumbersome; when problems occurred with the electronics, hardware and/or software, as the vendors they had purchased from did not offer service or support. In a recent interview with the Director of Ohio’s Pickerington Library, Suellen Goldsberry said, “the Pickerington Public Library chose LEID for our hold pick-up lockers because of their excellent customer service.” Goldsberry contacted LEID after consulting with fellow library administrators in Ohio.
