LeisureLink’s first Hackathon Velociraptor Summit is coming to Salt Lake City, Utah May 4th- 8th
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) April 30, 2015 -- LeisureLink, the leading travel technology platform for the vacation rental industry, announced they will be hosting their first Hackathon next week at Salt Lake City’s Gateway District Mall, in the former Coldwater Creek retail store at 30 South Rio Grande Drive.
“Velociraptor Summit is something we plan on doing more than just this once,” explains Julian Castelli, LeisureLink’s CEO. “This first one is for our internal technologist and consultants we are currently working with. In the future we are planning on opening this up to people outside the company. We are excited to take our Hackathon to the next level.”
The weeklong summit will kick off with a Star Wars theme and will have a game show feel. The difference in this competition is that participants are required to build things from LeisureLink’s product backlog and use the company’s engineering frameworks and stands. LeisureLink has always been at the cutting edge of technology, and is excited to see how the programmers respond to the new technology.
Judging will be done by a panel of LeisureLink’s principals. Principals are defined as the master craftsmen for a specific area within the technology organization - including Architecture, Engineering, Product, Quality, and Velocity.
First, second and third place groups will each receive a crystal trophy for each team member. Each member of the first place team will also receive an Apple Watch. The second place team members will each get an iPad Mini. The third place participants will get Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Headphones.
On top of that there will be smaller prizes ($20-$50 gift cards) for teams that hit milestones first throughout the week. Beyond the first, second, and third place prizes, there will also be awards for major milestones in the backlog. These awards will range from $5k to $25k depending on the milestone.
The consulting companies sending teams to compete against each other and the internal teams include: Credera, Pariveda, Slalom, RCG, and Starter Step.
