Level 1 Risk Application Monitors Forestry and Community Safety
Richmond, VA (PRWEB) December 02, 2014 -- The Texas A&M Forest Service (TFS) chose Timmons Group to design and develop the Level 1 Tree Risk Mobile Application for iOS and Android devices using the Esri ArcGIS Online platform. This application is designed to be used pre‐ and post‐storm events for the identification of trees at risk of creating damage to individuals or personal property.
Level 1 Tree Risk Assessment was designed to locate a tree (risk / hazard), input information about that tree, and upload photos of the identified tree using an iOS or Android device. Timmons Group developed the application, to be used in both online and offline situations, to identify and map at-risk trees primarily in urban environments. These trees are categorized to provide a means to track and abate hazardous trees and/or branches at-risk of falling.

This mobile application features effortless navigation and simple data entry. Trees are categorized by easy-to-understand icons that identify what risk level it is. Detailed information, such as GPS location, species, and conditions of branches of the tree are available for users to pinpoint and understand the state of a specific tree. There are two levels of users for this application: Advanced and Entry Level users. Advanced users are able to log into their ArcGIS.com account to view, map, analyze, and export their data, and Entry Level users have the capability to email their tree data via a Microsoft Excel / CSV file.
Level 1 is currently available for download from the Apple iTunes Store and Google Play Stores for software versions iOS7 and newer for iPhones/iPads and Android version 4 or newer.
