Liebherr Construction Equipment Selects OEConnection Parts Supply Technology for Its Dealer Network
Richfield, OH (PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- OEConnection LLC, the parts e-commerce technology leader for original equipment manufacturers (OEM) distribution networks, has announced that Liebherr Construction Equipment Co., the U.S. subsidiary of German equipment manufacturer Liebherr Group, has selected OEConnection’s parts sourcing solution for its network of dealerships throughout the U.S. The web-based solution will provide Liebherr’s dealers and distribution centers with 24/7 nationwide access to parts inventories, enabling dealers to quickly and accurately locate needed replacement parts from anywhere within the OEM parts supply network. Joining many of the world’s largest OEM dealer networks, Liebherr represents the first heavy equipment manufacturer to utilize OEConnection parts procurement and e-commerce solutions.
“We are pleased to welcome Liebherr Construction Equipment Company to our OEM parts marketplace,” said Chuck Rotuno, OEConnection President & CEO, “and we are equally excited for the opportunity to expand into the heavy construction equipment market. OEConnection solutions have proven to be successful at helping OEM dealer networks − across various industries – establish leaner and more profitable parts operations. It all comes down to having the right part at the right place at the right time.”
Michael Balella, Business Development Manager, Product Support at Liebherr Construction Equipment Co. said, “In an industry where equipment down time can cost the machine owner $1,000 per hour or more, our goal is to fill critical parts orders immediately; thus allowing the servicing dealer to make repairs as quickly as possible. The challenge lies in the fact that slow-moving parts may not be immediately available in the traditional vertical distribution chain and sourcing parts can take as much as two or three days.”
Balella added, “Having network-wide parts visibility creates the opportunity for dealers to easily source parts not only vertically as in the past but also horizontally, increasing the immediately-available parts stock in the market by at least 35 percent. That machine owner will benefit significantly seeing increased machine availability which translates to profitability.”
Implementation of OEConnection’s parts sourcing solution throughout the Liebherr U.S. dealer network is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2013.
