Lifelong Learner, Sitney Bounparaseuth Becomes the May 2013 Winner of the Sarder Scholarship
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- NetCom Learning announces that Sitney Bounparaseuth is the winner of the May 2013 Sarder Scholarship. The Sarder Scholarship is awarded on a monthly basis to deserving applicants who are looking to pursue a career in information technology and related fields. The $2500 scholarship can be used toward live online classes or any regular classroom course at NetCom Learning. The scholarship is named for NetCom Learning’s co-founder and creator of the scholarship, Russell Sarder, who is passionately interested in the promotion of education and lifelong learning.
“Sitney Bounparaseuth, is an ex Air Force officer, and possesses both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree,” said Russell Sarder, CEO of NetCom Learning. “In this economy, it can be important to have specific technology training in addition to college degrees such as IT certifications to be able to get the job you want. We are pleased to be able to help Sitney get started with his IT training.”
Sitney Bounparaseuth joined the United States Air Force in 1997 and was assigned to the 89th Civil Engineering Squadron at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. In 2003, he was deployed to Pakistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as a non-commissioned Officer in Charge providing essential security services for host nation nationals for ongoing Air Force construction projects. Since being honorably discharged, Sitney has earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Strayer University in Washington, DC. However, in the current job market gainful employment has been difficult, and Sitney is currently working as a nonpaid Project Management Intern for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, DC. While learning project management on the job, Bounparaseuth wants to become certified in the information technology field so that he can become successful in IT. He is interested in taking the CompTIA A+, Network+, Project+ and Security+, and Microsoft Project Server and is committed to learning as much as possible about information technology. His goal is to find fulltime employment with an organization that can combine his business experience, his education and training in information technology.
The Sarder Scholarship is open to individuals of any background or skill level and can be used for any of the IT industry courses NetCom Learning provides.
