Likepoll, an online polling website with a mandate to give a collective voice to people all around the world, is complete and live
(PRWEB UK) 18 December 2013 -- Given a current hot issue whether it be political: 'intervention in Syria' or 'nuclear energy for Iran', a social issue: 'gay marriage', or more pop culture related or 'Simon Cowell', what do people around the world really feel? To answer that question, it is ideal to have as many votes from as many people as possible. Current social media websites like Facebook and Twitter and many online polling websites require setting up accounts, logging in etc. by which time users have lost interest.
Likepoll solves this problem by making it effortless to vote. Any web user can go the the homepage and place a vote on any poll simply by clicking Like, Dislike, or Neutral. Likepoll is a completely free website and users are not even required to register or to log in. For each Like, Dislike, or Neutral a point of +1, 0, -1 is added to the 'score' for that poll and the latest score reflects the opinion of the voters. It's as simple as that.
After submitting a vote, the user is given the option to 'View Poll Results'. This presents them with a 'heatmap' (click here for example) of the world which provides a clear geographical view of vote distribution. The more red the colour for a country the more people have voted 'like' or 'yes' and the opposite for blue countries. This is an effective way to present the variety of opinions, 'feelings', and sentiment across countries and the US state by state. Hovering over any country shows the user a breakdown of the votes within that country.
Likepoll gives the option to see how the sentiment has changed throughout time. A user might be interested in seeing what the effect of a recent event is on sentiment and so clicking on 'last 7 days' will show voting results placed during the past 7 days only.
Creating a Likepoll account requires only a minimal amount of personal information and once approved the user is able to create their own voting polls. They can then track the progress of votes and discover what the world is thinking.
The website has a simple, clean, and intuitive design making it as effortless to use as possible. The basic features are the search bar, global/local mode option, and trending polls.
The search bar allows you to find polls that users are interested in. Simply type in a relevant phrase and hit 'Enter'.
The Global and Local options changes the list of trending polls so that users either view the polls which are trending worldwide (Global) or those which are trending in your own country or state (Local). For example, if you are a user in the US, clicking on 'Local' results in the list of trending polls which have had most votes from US users. Clicking on 'Global' takes you back to the default list which are the polls which have had the most votes from all users worldwide.
