Lion Precision Offers Factory Calibration in Japan
St. Paul, Minn. (PRWEB) April 24, 2014 -- Lion Precision’s line of precise noncontact displacement sensors can now be factory calibrated in Japan. “The Japanese market is very high-tech making some amazing products with amazing precision,” according to company president, Don Martin. These high-tech industries often require noncontact displacement measurements at high dynamic speeds with resolution of a nanometer or less. But the highly organized business and engineering culture of Japan demands that critical factory services be local. Martin continues, “The need to ship products to America for service and calibration was a significant barrier to us doing increased business in Japan, and we were committed to changing that.”
In 2012 Lion Precision opened the Japan Technical Center (JTC) and hired a director. The JTC has functioned as a technical resource for Japanese representatives and customers. On April 15, 2014, with the addition of another employee and an Ulimate Calibrator (Lion Precision proprietary calibration device), the JTC began performing calibrations for the local Japanese market. “The response has been very positive. Our Japanese customers and representatives now feel unhindered in the pursuit of new opportunities to help users make critical measurements that advance their own products and technology,” added Martin.
Koji Masuda is the Japan Technical Center manager. Mr. Masuda has 20 years of experience using high-performance noncontact displacement sensors in many different applications. The office celebrated a grand opening on July 18, 2012.
