Lion’s Heart Extends Membership Deadline to October 1, 2015
Mission Viejo, California (PRWEB) September 15, 2015 -- Lion's Heart, a nationwide volunteer platform for 6th – 12th grade students, has extended its enrollment deadline to October 1, 2015. Setting this program apart from others is the minimal parental involvement and absence of fundraising. Ambitious teens are encouraged to join Lion’s Heart, which provides Members with comprehensive documentation of service hours that is valuable during the college application process. Those interested in joining an existing Lion’s Heart chapter or starting a new chapter can visit http://www.lionsheartservice.org.
“Our mission is to instill the value of community service in our Members, while providing meaningful life skills through leadership opportunities and philanthropic experiences,” said Terry Corwin, who founded Lion’s Heart in 2004 with her son. “What began as a local community program has grown into a national service organization and our members have now performed a combined total of more than 400,000 volunteer hours which equates to more than $9,000,000 in societal value.”
Lion’s Heart organizes members into groups so they can volunteer for various non-profit and philanthropic organizations in their communities. Each chapter of teens elects their own officers and runs their own meetings. With this structure, members have the power to choose how they want to serve society.
