Lisa Pickell Named President of Orren Pickell Building Group
Northfield, Illinois (PRWEB) October 02, 2017 -- Earlier this year, Orren Pickell Building Group COO Lisa Pickell was nationally recognized as one of Constructech Magazine's Women in Construction in 2017. Now, she's accepting an honor of another kind, as she steps into the role as president of the prominent Illinois design-build firm.
"I started this company 42 years ago and we have many things to be proud of, including the contributions that my wife Tina, and my daughter Lisa, have made to our success," offers founder Orren Pickell.
Lisa Pickell joined the firm 21 years ago, entering an industry largely dominated by men. Even today, according the the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 91% of workers in construction are male, and women hold less than 7.5% of management roles. The Orren Pickell Building Group has always strived to bring women on board, and the firm is currently about 33% female—more than triple the national average.
Throughout her career, Lisa has been honored for her efforts in the industry. In addition to her Constructech award, she was named Remodeler of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago in 2009, and was selected as one of Professional Remodeler magazine's 40 Under 40 in 2011.

Lisa is an active member of Vistage Worldwide, the Executive's Club of Chicago, and the Chicago Architecture Foundation where she sits on several planning committees. Lisa conducts Chicago River cruises for the Foundation—one of TripAdvisor's Top 10 Tours in the United States—and has studied culinary arts at Kendall College.
