Lisa Woll Joins the Children’s Environmental Health Network Board of Directors
(PRWEB) July 31, 2014 -- The Children’s Environmental Health Network (CEHN) has welcomed Lisa Woll, CEO of US SIF and the US SIF Foundation, to its Board of Directors. At US SIF, Ms. Woll has spearheaded strategic planning, the development of a robust policy presence, the expansion and diversification of funding, and the creation of the Center for Sustainable Investment Education.
Ms. Woll’s career history demonstrates a strong commitment to women, children, and the environment. Prior to leading US SIF, Ms. Woll was the Executive Director of the International Women’s Media Foundation. She is the founder for Suited for Change, and a founding member and former Board member of the Women’s Alliance. Other previous posts include serving as the director of the first international study to look at the impact of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and directing the Washington, DC office of Save the Children. She has served on several nonprofit boards and commissions, including Women’s Voices for the Earth, and is a member of the Advisory Council of the Children’s Rights Division of Human Rights Watch. In 2001, Washington Magazine named Ms. Woll a Washingtonian of the Year (2000), one of numerous recognitions of her work.
Ms. Woll holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in public policy and women’s studies from George Washington University. She also participated in the Executive Cohort of the Selah Leadership Program, and founded, with her teenage son, Advantage Ethiopia: Kids’ Tennis and Education Initiative.
