The purpose of the National Bar Association (http://www.nationalbar.org), founded in 1925, is “to advance the science of jurisprudence, uphold the honor of the legal profession, promote social intercourse among members of the bar, and protect the civil and political rights of all citizens of the several states of the United States.” Gertrude E. Rush (1880-1962) was the only woman co-founder of the NBA. Among her many personal and professional achievements, she was the first African American woman admitted to practice law in Iowa and assumed a leadership role in many civil rights groups. Dr. Pitera’s academic credentials include Ph.D., Communication Studies, University of Kansas; M.A., Social Psychology, University of Kansas; and, B.A., magna cum laude, Psychology, Clemson University. She is a psychology and communications expert who specializes in complex litigation and trial consulting and has more than 25 years of experience in the field. She helps clients perform at their highest levels and has managed hundreds of cases during her career. She understands what’s at stake and she knows how to help clients build persuasive themes.
In addition to being a jury specialist, Dr. Pitera also prepares witnesses for depositions, trials and congressional hearings.
