Little City Receives Grant from Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation
Palatine, IL (PRWEB) July 21, 2016 -- The MDRT Foundation recently awarded a $2,000 grant to Little City to provide preventative oral health care and nutrition services to youth with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Through its grants programs, the Foundation is committed to building stronger families and communities around the globe. This year, the MDRT Foundation will award nearly $1 million in member-endorsed grants to more than 100 charitable organizations worldwide.
Little City's Oral Health and Nutrition Programs are holistic and proactive in their approach to dental care, nutrition and the promotion of optimum health. Little City has provided onsite health and wellness services since 2010.
“Oral health is a vital component to one’s overall wellness,” said Shawn Jeffers, Executive Director of Little City, “Ironically, it’s one of the most challenging medical issues for individuals with disabilities. We are most grateful that the MDRT Foundation realizes the importance of our program and has contributed to its ongoing success.”
The Oral Health Program was established to provide individuals with disabilities the dental care they need offered by professionals who are trained to work with the special needs population. Desensitization services help prepare participants for trips to the dentist and nutrition instruction helps create a healthier life.
