Little Sprouts Rides into Melrose Near Oak Grove MBTA on the Orange Line
Melrose, MA (PRWEB) June 24, 2015 -- Little Sprouts, an award-winning provider of early education and child care, opened its 19th school this morning in Melrose, Massachusetts. A welcome addition for commuters and nearby residents, the school is conveniently located in southern Melrose at 40 Washington Street near the Oak Grove MBTA station on the Orange Line. Previously the Melrose RMV, the Little Sprouts school has been completely remodeled to offer modern furnishings in Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classrooms. The 7,600 sq. ft. school boasts eight classrooms and will serve up to 90 children. Three outdoor playgrounds, including one specifically dedicated to Infants, are comprised of natural wood elements to inspire creativity in environmentally-friendly surroundings. Additionally, to promote STEM learning outside the classroom, the older children will enjoy gardening areas for their own plants.
The Little Sprouts Melrose school will be directed by long-term Little Sprouts leader Kristin McMahon. Since joining the company in 2006, McMahon has proven herself a devoted and skilled educator. Having previously served as both a teacher and Executive Director, most recently at the Little Sprouts North Andover school for nearly five years, McMahon is a well-rounded leader with a Master of Education degree from Merrimack College. McMahon looks forward to expanding the power of early education in Melrose: “Like the children in our classrooms, Little Sprouts is growing and I am excited to share our passion for early education with the families of Melrose and surrounding communities.”
For over 30 years, Little Sprouts has provided early education and child care to children throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The organization has been nationally recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a “Preschool Center of Educational Excellence.” Over 95% of Little Sprouts’ students graduate early reading proficient, with 64% scoring advanced for early literacy development, and 25% testing gifted.
President & CEO of Little Sprouts, Mark Anderegg, is excited to join the Melrose community. “We have long been aware of the growing population of young families in Melrose that are clamoring for a rich early education experience for their children. It has taken us a full year to get the school just the way we want it, but we are optimistic that families and teachers will agree that it was worth the wait.”
Inquiring families are welcome to tour Little Sprouts Melrose, meet the Executive Director and teachers, and learn more about Little Sprouts’ award-winning curriculum. Little Sprouts extends an open invitation to families that are interested in discovering the modern and sun-filled classrooms, brightly-colored hallways, and expansive playgrounds.
