LiveBeyond Hosted First Annual Benefit in Texas
Grapevine, Texas (PRWEB) November 18, 2014 -- Gene Stallings, national champion head coach and Football Hall of Fame inductee, was the featured speaker at LiveBeyond’s first annual benefit in Grapevine, Texas at the Grapevine Concourse Event Center on Monday, Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
More than 250 people gathered to support LiveBeyond’s work in Thomazeau, Haiti. Guests had the opportunity to hear Coach Stallings’ stories about LiveBeyond and his experience working with his son-in-law, Dr. David Vanderpool, and daughter, Laurie Vanderpool, at the LiveBeyond base to provide medical care to thousands of locals across the Thomazeau region.
Renowned fine artist, Rolando Diaz, was also a featured guest at the event. During the dinner, Diaz created an original, Haiti-inspired work of art that was auctioned off for six thousand dollars, and all proceeds were donated to the organization.
“We love our LiveBeyond family in Texas, and this was such a great opportunity for us to come together for a cause that we all believe in – working together to transform Thomazeau for the Kingdom of God,” said Dr. Vanderpool. “It was also a treat to have my father-in-law, Gene Stallings, share his personal testimony on how the people of Haiti have changed our family’s life.”
