Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) September 11, 2013 -- The Ultraman Canada Championships is a grueling 3-day ultra-endurance event covering 514.5 kilometers (320 miles): Swim - 10 KM, Bike - 420.2 KM, Run - 84.3 KM.
Living Fuel Champion Christian Isakson finished fourth out of a group of 25 elite athletes in the 2013 Ultraman Canada Championships. Isakson is one of the top "extreme" athletes competing today and looks to LivingFuel products to get him to the finish line of some of the toughest races in the world.
"Living Fuel is nutrition that really helped me recover," Isakson said. "It was necessary to take in clean burning fuel, not only leading into the race itself, but in between stages. Thanks KC for everything!"
"KC" is KC Craichy, Founder and CEO of Living Fuel and has been a big supporter of Christian.
"Christian is a rare individual who can accomplish super human feats," Craichy responded. "I will never forget his success at Epic 5 last year where he completed 5 Iron Distance races in 5 days on 5 different Hawaiian islands and a few days later he was doing one legged squats in my living room. Now Ultraman! Simply amazing! Living Fuel is proud to be Christian's nutrition foundation."
Isakson said that he used LivingFuel products after each stage of the Ultraman and that it prepared him very well for the next day's events. He used SuperGreens as a snack before bed because it helps him sleep better. "Knowing I have a stomach full of fuel with high nutrition and low cal's makes me rest easy," Isakson said. "It also is a solid way to get rid of late night cravings."
Ultraman Canada is held every summer in Penticton, British Columbia. The 10.0 KM swim course is in the warm, fresh waters of Skaha Lake. The 420.2 KM bike course is broken into two stages. The first state follows the swim and is a 144.8 km (90.0 mile) bike ride from Okanagan Falls over the Richter Pass and back to Oganagan Falls. Stage 2 is 275.4 kim (171.4 mile) bike ride from Penticton to Princeton. There is also a substantial elevation climb both days (1240 meters on day 1 and 1760 meters on day two). The run course is a double marathon (84.3 km - 52.4 mile) from Princeton to Summerland that includes steep climbs and descents.
"Ultraman Canada is very tough," Isakson said. "I'm so thankful for LivingFuel SuperBerry Ultimate and SuperGreens. SuperBerry Ultimate is amazing, amazing stuff. It satisfies my hunger cravings between workouts and post-workouts. It's ideal if you're vegetarian, gluten sensitive. It has a lot of precursors, enzymes, stabilized probiotics. It's really well-optimized whole meal superfood."
Isakson is currently training for the Ultraman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii this November. It is a 3-day, 320-mile (515 km) individual ultra-endurance event. Entry is by invitation only and limited to just 40 participants.
"It's a great honor to be invited," Isakson said, "and I'm so glad to have LivingFuel products to FUEL me to the finish line. There's nothing better on the planet."
