Living with a Disability Magazine Marks World Hepatitis Day on July 28 with New Article on Disabling Digestive Disorders
San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) July 28, 2014 -- To commemorate World Hepatitis Day which occurs every July 28, the Editorial Board of Living with a Disability magazine has published a new article that focuses on disabling digestive disorders that include hepatitis, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, inflammatory bowel disease, short bowel syndrome and malnutrition.
The important new article highlights that, in the context of receiving a Social Security Disability award, those afflicted with hepatitis and other disabling conditions related to the digestive system must obtain -- and be prepared to present – complete and accurate medical records that support their diagnosis, and any treatment that they have previously, are currently, or are scheduled to receive in the future.

As defined by the World Health Organization, hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver. The condition can be self-limiting or can progress to fibrosis (scarring), cirrhosis or liver cancer. Hepatitis viruses are the most common cause of hepatitis in the world but other infections, toxic substances (e.g. alcohol, certain drugs), and autoimmune diseases can also cause hepatitis.
