Living with MS: Taking Steps Toward Hope

Ramon Hyron Garcia’s Multiple Sclerosis relapsed in 2009, leaving him with limited use of his body from the neck down and causing him to re-learn how to walk and talk. Recognizing a general need for hope among long-term patients, Garcia compiled his own experiences and insights into his new guide, “No More MS Depression.”
“I want to give hope, I want to show hope,” Garcia says. “Through my story and the hundreds and thousands of other stories, there is hope. I'm walking proof of it.”
Following Garcia’s initial diagnosis, his experiences in hospice and his everyday life with MS, “No More MS Depression” is a guide for positive living.
Garcia details his process of developing positive mental attitude exercises, developing a diet plan that fits his needs and building a foundation in faith while dealing with MS, encouraging others to find hope and empowerment in their own situations.
“There is always something that can be done to make any situation better, but we are made to believe we are too small and we can't,” Garcia says. “Can’t- I refuse to believe in this word.”

About the Author
Ramon Hyron Garcia has been dealing with Multiple Sclerosis since 2003. Garcia graduated from high school and has completed a few classes at the college level. During his professional life, Garcia has made upwards of $85,000 a year as well as lived in poverty, all while dealing with MS. His goal with his new book, “No More MS Depression” is to not only bring awareness to the issues surround such debilitating conditions as MS, but also to bring hope to those living with it. He has one son and currently resides in Milwaukee, Wisc.
