Local Dignitaries Gather to Announce San Diego’s Clean Air Challenge
San Diego, California (PRWEB) June 30, 2015 -- The American Lung Association in California announced its new partnership with local company Sullivan Solar Power today at a media event in San Diego. Speakers and clean air advocates included San Diego County Supervisor Ron Roberts, Dr. Atul Malhotra of UC San Diego School of medicine, Natalie Germuska of Kindred Hospital, and Daniel Sullivan, founder and president of Sullivan Solar Power.
For every solar power system purchased from Sullivan Solar Power today through Dec. 31, 2015, Sullivan Solar Power will donate $100 to the American Lung Association in California’s LUNG FORCE initiative.
“LUNG FORCE is excited to announce our partnership with Sullivan Solar Power to bring awareness to lung cancer while improving our local air quality,” said Jessie Bustamante of the American Lung Association in California, “We are thrilled that Clean Air Challenge partnership is anticipated to result in a $75,000 gift from Sullivan Solar Power.”
The San Diego Clean Air Challenge aims to bring awareness to lung cancer, the number one cancer killer in the United States. LUNG FORCE has strongly encouraged all local elected officials to challenge their constituents to help combat climate change and poor air quality via renewable energy.
“It was clear to me that solar was an answer to many problems, so I founded Sullivan Solar Power to change the way this world,” said Daniel Sullivan, founder and president of Sullivan Solar Power, “I want to make a monumental difference, to turn entire communities solar and show them that this is the future we are setting for our children and grandchildren, making a beautiful future.”
The Clean Air Challenge launched today, June 30th, which was declared Sullivan Solar Power Day last year by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. The declaration recognized Sullivan Solar Power for its outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to area residents, and recognizes its tenth anniversary in business.
“At Sullivan Solar Power we truly believe in giving back to better our community,” said Sullivan, “Announcing our partnership with American Lung Association in California is an appropriate way to celebrate Sullivan Solar Power Day this year.”
