Local Tourism Bureaus Bring the Yosemite Experience to U.S. Travel Shows
Oakhurst, CA (PRWEB) January 22, 2014 -- From January through June the travel industry gathers its brightest stars and most seasoned adventurers to present the latest in leisure and business travel options to consumer and professionals alike at a series of trade shows.
Once again in 2014 tourism bureaus in the four Yosemite Gateway communities team up to bring their unique view of the Yosemite Experience to potential visitors.
“The four gateways to Yosemite are excited to work together to promote our glorious area as part of the Yosemite Experience pavilion,” says Julie Fullmer, who represents Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau in Oakhurst, CA. “We travel to nine events from January through June, ranging from the locally-based Fresno Home & Garden Show to the U S Travel Association’s IPW (International Pow Wow) for International Tour Operators.”
The Bay Area Travel and Adventure Show kicks off the trade-show season in Santa Clara, CA, January 25 and 26, and attracts over 15,000 visitors annually.
On the docket, February 8 and 9 is the Los Angeles Travel and Adventure Show, the largest consumer show in the United States, held in Long Beach, CA. Its attendance reached an all-time-high of over 28,500 in 2013.
“We have had a presence at the L. A. Travel Show since 2010,” says Julie Fullmer, “and our presentation won, two years in a row, the Best-in-Show Regional Pavilion. Travel Show Organizers’ CEO John Golicz said, ‘Yosemite rocked the California section of the show. We never cease to be impressed by their ever-increasing creativity and audience engagement.’”
This year’s theme commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Yosemite Grant and features a rock-climbing wall and a new “Valley View” step-and-repeat backdrop for fun-to-take, fun-to-share photo ops. In addition, the pavilion offers a drawing for six adventure giveaways. Julie states, “You don’t want to miss signing up for your chance to win. These opportunities are just too good to pass up.”
In 2014 Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau plans to participate in additional industry shows, as follows:
Business Tour Operator NTA “Travel Exchange” Convention in Los Angeles, CA – February 15-20.
Fresno Home & Garden Consumer Show – March 7–9.
