Local Wealth Management Group Selected as Recipient of BBB of Fort Worth Torch Award
Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) February 06, 2015 -- Known for its mission to Start With Trust®, Better Business Bureau of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Inc. is excited to announce the winner of their 2014 Torch Award for Ethics. The Torch Award is one of the highest honors given by the nonprofit trade organization to recognize a BBB Accredited Business or Accredited Charity for their exceptional commitment to upholding marketplace trust.
The 2014 Torch Award Winner is: Roger’s Wealth Group, Inc.
“The Torch Award is definitely a significant reminder for businesses and consumers that ethics is still very important,” said Larry Taylor, president and chief executive officer of BBB of Fort Worth. “BBB of Fort Worth is excited to work with so many businesses each day who continue to see the value of upholding ethics in the marketplace.”
Applications were received from Accredited Businesses or Accredited Charities in BBB of Fort Worth’s eight county service area. The winner was announced at BBB’s annual Torch Award Ceremony held on February 5, 2015.
A panel of volunteer business and community leaders from other BBB Accredited Businesses judged applicants on their ability to demonstrate ethical business practices in the areas of:
- Integrity and Ethical Practices
- Integrity/Ethics Programs Training
- Industry Programs
- Awards and Recognition
BBB presents the Torch Award for Ethics each year to a BBB Accredited Business or Accredited Charity that exemplifies ethical behavior and displays integrity in all aspects of their operations. The Torch Award is open to all BBB Accredited Businesses or Accredited Charities located within BBB of Fort Worth’s eight county service area.
BBB of Fort Worth also recognized two area high school students who received scholarships from its Consumer Education Foundation. The students were awarded a four year scholarship for their understanding of ethics. The 2014 recipients of the Consumer Education Foundation scholarships are:
- Claudia Olmos, Everman High School - $4,000
- Taelor Faulkner, Everman High School - $4,000
Each year, BBB of Fort Worth’s nonprofit arm, the Consumer Education Foundation, awards scholarships to high school seniors in its eight county service area who, through essay, demonstrate an understanding of the importance of ethics.
