In early November 2013, Typhoon Haiyan, also called Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines, occurred. It was an exceptionally powerful typhoon, which shattered portions of Southeast Asia, majorly. It is considered to be the deadliest Philippine typhoon on record, taking lives of around 5,560 people in Philippines alone. This storm damaged several houses and downed innumerable trees. Also, many huge buildings were destroyed, and several cars piled up. Some low lying areas have been completely washed away! In fact, Typhoon Haiyan has been termed as ‘Worse than Hell’ by many media agencies.
Considering all these huge losses and damages, LOCUS-T came up to become the main sponsor for Typhoon Haiyan Fundraising event. This is a part of LOCUS-T's corporate social responsibility (CSR) project, aiming to help such destroyed areas and helpless people surviving there. The company has also launching help by giving its presence on television, radio and other fundraising concerts.
