Long® Fence Co. Inc. Selected by the USGA to Provide Services for the 2014 U.S. Open

Inc. was chosen by the United States Golf Association (USGA) to supply barricades for both the 2014 Men's and Women's U.S. Open tournaments to be held at Pinehurst Resort and County Club in North Carolina. As one of the tournament's preferred vendors, Long Fence Co. will supply pedestrian barricade panels which total over 20,292 linear feet. The panels will help establish the course and effectively separate golfers from spectators.
Although being part of the event this year is big news, it may have come as no surprise to some that Long® Fence Co. Inc. was once again considered a lead contender for providing barricade services, considering that they had participated in both the 2011 and 2013 U.S. Opens, providing both fence supplies and barricades for the championship tournament. On June 2nd, a four-man crew from Long® Fence will arrive at Pinehurst to set up the barricades. Once set up, the barricades will act as an effective pedestrian control. This system of fencing is important not only for keeping golfer distractions at a minimum, but also for keeping the tournament safe for all participants. Pinehurst Resort has eight golf courses in total, and for many years was the world's largest golf resort, as ranked by Guinness World Records.
