Los Angeles Non Profit Hosts Anti-Human Trafficking Photo Shoot
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) September 10, 2015 -- The Dream Builders Project, a local 501(c)3, non-profit organization, and world famous photographer Ash Gupta from 838 Media Group, will be hosting a photo shoot this Thursday September 10 at Brigade LA to raise awareness and funds for the anti-human trafficking movement. Benefiting Not For Sale, another non-profit organization dedicated to serving communities threatened by slavery and exploitation, all funds raised from this campaign will go directly towards their efforts and activities providing shelter, healthcare, legal services, education, job- and life-skills training in America and across the world.
More than fifty girls will be attending the photo shoot at the downtown women’s fashion store, including Kristen Renton from "Sons of Anarchy" and Melia Kreiling from "Tyrant". The shoot will promote the anti-human trafficking movement with a digital and print media campaign that will be published in January 2016 for Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Up until then, teasers for the campaign will be promoted on all of The Dream Builders Project’s digital and social media sites.
Currently, California is home to three of the FBI’s 13 highest child sex trafficking areas in the nation; Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego. These cities are part of a $150 billion industry that enslaves 30 million people all around the world. 98% of these people are women and girls. Used, sold, and exploited for sex, money, drug trafficking, and arms dealing, victims of human trafficking are threatened, lied to, tortured, and physically and psychologically controlled by the trafficker and/or pimp.
“In a world and a time where we pride ourselves on being free, it’s horrible to think that there are people living in these circumstances more than ever before,” says The Dream Builders Project’s founder Mayer Dahan. “This is the beginning of a long effort to try to combat a very harmful and damaging industry. We must protect each other to achieve a better future for humanity.''
The photo shoot and campaign will encourage people to post their own selfies on social media with a bar code and the hash tags #NotForSale and #ImADreambuilder. Thousands are expected to participate, helping to raise worldwide awareness and support for this cause.
The Dream Builders Project, Ash Gupta, Alex Pollini, Michael Bu from Liquid Skin and Brigade LA are proud supporters of the anti-human trafficking movement.
