Lowell Spinners Partner with Ping4 Inc. to Enhance Game Day Experience at LeLacheur Field
Nashua, New Hampshire (PRWEB) January 29, 2014 -- For the 2014 season, fans of the Boston Red Sox’ Single-A Affiliate, the Lowell Spinners, will receive highly-targeted, relevant notifications regarding parking updates, traffic flow, special offers for season ticket holders, and in-game promotions via ping4alerts!.
“We pride ourselves on being in the customer service business,” said Lowell Spinners President and General Manager, Tim Bawmann. “We are always striving to enhance the fan engagement and create the optimal experience. The ping4alerts! platform will allow us to do so while fans are enjoying a night at the park, while also offering a private communication channel for our staff.”
Ping4alerts! is a free iOS and Android app that uses the location based technology inherent in today’s smartphones to deliver notifications within a highly-localized area. Using any web-browser, the Lowell Spinners can notify fans inside LeLacheur Park, message certain sections of the park, and even alert people traveling on 495 and Route 3 with up to the minute information. Ping4alerts! protects user anonymity and does not require users to provide any personally identifiable information such as a phone number, street address, or email address. These mobile notifications are delivered over the Internet through GPS, cellular, and available Wi-Fi networks.
The Lowell Spinners will become the first commercial organization in the United States to use ping4alerts! for the purpose of mobile event management. In Massachusetts, ping4alerts! is currently used statewide by the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency and locally by Worcester County, Dukes County, and Nantucket to alert Commonwealth citizens about public safety events.
By placing various geofences in and around LeLacheur Park, Spinners fans can receive location-specific notifications for parking, pre-game, and in-game promotions. To ease traffic congestion, especially as students return to UMass Lowell during the season, fans can receive information such as alternate routes and parking availability. From the comfort of their seats, fans can receive offers for Gator Pit’s All-You-Can Eat BBQ and the Coca-Cola Party Decks, and information on upcoming Bobble Head giveaway promotions.
“Our technology lets an organization reach patrons in a defined area with the right message at the right time,” said VP of Marketing, Norm Archer. “The Tiger Woods Foundation successfully piloted the platform during the Deutsche Bank Championship last September. We see the Spinner’s partnership as a natural extension of this mobile event management platform.”
Spinners fans and staff are encouraged to download the free ping4alerts! app by simply visiting the App Store or Google Play.
