LPS Industries Receives New Jersey Environmental Award
Moonachie, NJ (PRWEB) February 05, 2015 -- February 3, 2015 - announced that the NJ State Department of Environmental Protection has formally recognized the Company under New Jersey’s Environmental Stewardship Program. LPS was awarded a Certificate of Stewardship on January 16, by Assistant Commissioner John Giordano, NJ DEP.
The NJ DEP’s Environmental Stewardship program is designed to formally recognize voluntary and proactive measures that New Jersey companies have taken to improve the environment. The goal of this initiative is to encourage regulated entities to improve their environmental performance beyond the minimum requirements of existing rules and regulations. The environmental dimensions encompassed by this award include Green Building Implementation, Hazardous Materials Reduction, Water Use Reduction, Operations Energy Use Reduction, Renewable Energy Use and Environmental Enhancement Projects.
Examples of Company initiatives that qualified for this recognition include installing a rooftop solar power system producing 900,000 kilowatts of electricity annually, replacing lighting fixtures and bulbs sitewide with more energy efficient models, installing a Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer to replace a Catalytic Oxydizer, in-house distilling of waste solvents from processing equipment then using the resulting distillate to clean the machines and implementing a 100% paper and polyethylene recycling program, among others.
