LRQA ISO Standards Revisions; CQI Conference to address ISO 9001:2015
(PRWEB UK) 29 January 2014 -- Mike James, Managing Director LRQA and Chair of the IIOC (Independent International Organisation for Certification) will be speaking at The Chartered Quality Institute’s Leadership Conference 2014 on April 1st.
The revisions to ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environmental) along with other ISO standards and schemes continue to dominate much of the discussions within the management systems assessment industry, and form an integral part of the CQI Conference programme. This panel discussion session (entitled ISO 9001:2015: What difference will it make?), will provide an opportunity to consider the potential benefit that the 2015 revision of ISO 9001 and Annex SL could bring certified organisations, their customers and society at large. Representatives from the standard writers, the accredited certification industry (represented by Mike James) and IRCA will outline what they see as the opportunity that the new standard could offer and debate whether, in reality, ISO 9001:2015 will really make a difference. Mike has already given a number of interviews on the upcoming ISO standards revisions including one with Dubai TV and also one with the CQI’s flagship publication Quality World where he stated that the ISO 9001 revision will deliver “Increased user confidence through greater senior management ‘quality leadership’ responsibility, tied to closer links between the management system and product/service quality – all raising the responsibility of certification and accreditation bodies.”
The conference itself is set to be an informative and inspiring day of new ideas, stimulating debate and renowned speakers. Dedicated to driving forward the quality agenda, the conference will provide delegates with a greater understanding of how operational effectiveness and efficiency is vital to achieving organisational success.
The CQI sees that successful leadership is at its best when its vision is strategic, the voice persuasive and the results tangible. Leadership is not an end itself but a means to bring out the best in people, to inspire and motivate them to commit their energies, skills and talents to delivering the organisations vision. The CQI Leadership Conference 2014 will explore how organisations can use leadership to develop and maintain a competitive lead while bringing out the best in its employees. High profile speakers, from Marks and Spencer, Chelsea Football Club, HSBC as well as LRQA will debate topics including:
• Efficiency and Productivity
• Customer Service
• Risk and Reputation
LRQA’s experts are actively involved in the international technical committees for all three of the world’s leading Management System Standards, specifically ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001 (occupational health and safety).
