Luciano Manara Looks Back on WWII in ‘The Son of a She Wolf’
PIETRA MARAZZI, Italy (PRWEB) June 09, 2015 -- Author Luciano Manara dives back in time, looking at his experiences before, during and after World War II in his new book, “ The Son of a She Wolf” (published by AuthorHouse UK).
Manara’s story opens on an old man who is approaching the end of his long journey and retiring to the Italian countryside. The area is the same place where he spent his first 10 years before and throughout WWII. While there, he rethinks the major events of those times through the lens of his later life, setting out to rediscover his boyhood.
As the old man looks back on his years growing up, he wonders why he chased his dreams. This introduces a paradigm of how environment and events shape character.
“Currently the world is turning much faster than in the previous century,” Manara says. “My book may make the reader better aware of where he is coming from and going to.”
Manara hopes to offer insight on how his life evolved elsewhere as well on why his motherland’s enviable wealth of creativity and natural and historical beauty is still marred by persistently fractured politics.

Luciano Manara is an Italian, born in 1935. He earned his M.D. summa cum laude at the University of Milan, did his military service in the Italian Army Medical Corps and went on to a lifelong international research career. His endeavors earned him several domestic and foreign awards. He also did some teaching and wrote scientific papers as well as books and articles for the lay press for scientific dissemination.
