Luxury Bed and Breakfast on Long Island Announces Executive Chef
Center Moriches, NY (PRWEB) August 05, 2015 -- You can’t have a true Long Island vacation without tasting the locally sourced, organic gourmet cuisine at Center Moriches’ premier luxury waterfront bed and breakfast, The Lindenmere. Farm-to-table, a trending culinary concept has been supported by health and nutrition-conscious diners in recent years. Although it has grown in popularity, The Lindenmere’s Executive Chef John Fortune has 24 years experience specializing in farm-to-table cuisine.
“It may be a trend in food preparation, but I’ve been scouring for local, organic produce and meats for years. I think it’s the best way to enjoy truly delicious and healthy food,” said Chef Fortune.
Chef Fortune has developed a contemporary menu plan incorporating old family favorites for The Lindenmere, including luncheons at the private pool house, Imelda’s Poolhouse Grille, featuring hors d’ourves, small plates, and daily specials. Imelda’s Poolhouse Grille — its namesake a nod to the former owner Imelda Marcos who designed and built the pool house with radius cedar beams imported from the Philippians in a pagoda style— is home to The Sunset Club, which patrons may join for one-day, weekly, monthly, or annual memberships. In addition to luncheons, five course gourmet dinners with fine Long Island wine pairings are served in the main dining room of the estate or al fresco along the wrap-around porch. Breakfast is served daily to guests of the bed and breakfast, and brunch is available to Sunset Club members, by reservation, on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
The menu will change based on availability, local harvest, fresh-caught seafood, and guest favorites. The Lindenmere will host a number of special dining events featuring “Thankful Thursdays,” where a traditional Thanksgiving-style meal will be served, featuring a roasted turkey with all of the trimmings including homemade pumpkin pie.
“I listen to our guests. If there’s a dish they particularly love, I’ll make it happen for them,” said Chef Fortune. “I encourage feedback from guests. It’s important to me that their dining experience is everything they expected, and more.”
The Lindenmere kitchen is capable of accommodating special dietary requests from guests, pending 24-hour notice. Some special diets Chef Fortune specializes in catering to include low sodium, sugar free, gluten free, and vegan/vegetarian. Food allergies will also be accommodated with the utmost care.
The Lindenmere Bed and Breakfast is family and pet friendly. The heated saltwater pool is open to guests and Sunset Club members Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Imelda’s Poolhouse Grille is open to Sunset Club members Tuesday through Sunday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Lindenmere is available for reservations all year long, with the exception of the month of January.
