(PRWEB) June 22, 2015 -- The Amangiri hotel, located in Southern Utah, is the most expensive hotel in the world. Luxury-Hotels.com came to this conclusion after conducting its most recent survey.
The survey compared luxury hotels around the globe during the summer 2015 season. The specific methodology implemented by the survey used the average overnight rate for the least expensive double room at each hotel. Therefore, the prices shown reflect the minimum a summer guest will have to spend to stay at certain hotels.
With an average nightly rate of $1889, the Amangiri, located in Canon Point, Utah near the border with Arizona, tops the rankings. Runners-up are the Hotel Cala di Volpe in Sardinia, Italy and the Explora Rapa Nui on Easter Island, Chile. Average rates of $1789 and $1733 per night, respectively, rendered these accommodations second and third most expensive in the world.
Another hotel in the United States made it into the Top 10. Averaging $1554 per night, the Montage Kapalua, located in the second-largest of the Hawaiian Islands, Maui, ranks fifth most expensive overall worldwide.
