It is free to join the Luxury Train Club, by subscription to the newsletter. Club Members get discount off every journey featured on the Club website, plus a thank-you gift for bookings (over £500 or EUR / USD / AUD equivalent) as well as any promotion or offer from the individual trains. Renfe provides free-of-charge First Class train tickets to Club members who book Gran Lujo or Superior suites on El Transcantábrico Gran Lujo and Al Andalus. Renfe also grants a 40% discount voucher for members who are travelling in Clásico, Junior Suites or Standard Suites, valid in any class of travel.
Al Andalus has several original Wagon-Lits carriages built between 1929 and 1930, now restored to their original splendour. This is the epitome of romantic travel; Belle Epoque charm mingles with modern comforts, not least of which is a private bathroom for every suite. Al Andalus mostly operates a 6-day circular journey in Andalucia from Seville that includes Cordoba, Granada, Ronda, Cadiz and more. It also has a more limited programme that includes journeys through central and northern Spain, some of which are 5- and 4-day tours.
Al Andalus passengers in Superior / Gran Lujo Suites have the complimentary First Class travel offer; Standard / Junior Suite passengers benefit from 40% discount off any class of Renfe travel.
El Transcantabrico Gran Lujo travels between Santiago de Compostela and San Sebastian, both ways, taking a leisurely 8 days, during which there is a full and rich programme of visits and excursions. The train is the most luxurious narrow gauge train with sleeping cars in the world. It has lounges and dining cars with large panoramic windows and only 14 double suites. Each suite has a double bed or twin beds, with a lounge area and a private bathroom.
El Transcantábrico Gran Lujo passengers have the complimentary First Class travel offer.
El Transcantabrico Clasico 8-day rail tour operates from Santiago de Compostela (the destination for over 1,000 years of the St. James’ Way, ‘El Camino de Santiago’) to León, or the other way; through the lands of Castile and León and to the shores of the Bay of Biscay, accompanied by its private road coach for a varied programme of excursions and meals in local restaurants. This is the sister train to Gran Lujo, but has only has Junior Suites. There are also 6-, 5-, 4- and 3-day tours, all arranged around sections of the full 8-day trip. Like the other Spanish luxury trains, every suite has a private bathroom.
El Transcantábrico Clásico (Junior Suite) passengers can have 40% discount off any class of Renfe travel.
