Lymphoma Research Foundation Partners with Saks Fifth Avenue Boca Raton for Annual Fashion Luncheon to Raise Critical Funds for Blood Cancer Research
Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- More than 5,000 people were diagnosed with lymphoma – the most common form of blood cancer – in Florida last year alone. To raise critical funds for blood cancer research, the Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) – the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to funding innovative lymphoma research and serving the lymphoma community through a comprehensive series of education programs, outreach initiatives and patient services – will host its Eigrth Annual South Florida Luncheon on February 3, 2014 at St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida. To-date, the luncheon has raised more than $1M to support the Lymphoma Research Foundation’s mission to eradicate lymphoma and serve those touched by the disease.
“The Lymphoma Research Foundation’s Annual Fashion Luncheon is such an important event for the South Florida community, as well as for the entire lymphoma community,” said Jane Yudell. “As the mother of a lymphoma survivor, I personally understand the importance of investing in research and am committed to finding a cure for lymphoma; events like this Luncheon help to make that dream a reality.”
For this year’s Luncheon, the Lymphoma Research Foundation has partnered with Saks Fifth Avenue Boca Raton to present the ESCADA Spring 2014 collection, as well as an onsite boutique. “Saks Fifth Avenue is proud to donate 10 percent of the event's sales to benefit the Lymphoma Research Foundation,” said John Antonini, Vice President General Manager, Saks Fifth Avenue Boca Raton. “The Lymphoma Research Foundation’s Luncheon has become such an important event for the community and Saks Fifth Avenue Boca Raton is delighted to support the Foundation’s efforts to fight this type of blood cancer.”
The charity event, which has now become a staple in the affluent South Florida region, is co-chaired by Judy Bronsteen, Gladys Cook, Elisabeth Dalfen, Joan Hauser, Mitzi Oreman and Jane Yudell. Dr. Ann LaCasce, Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School’s Dana Farber Cancer Institute, will serve as the event’s keynote speaker.
“The Luncheon committee is honored to have Dr. Ann LaCasce, one of the world’s leading lymphoma experts, join us as the keynote speaker this year,” said Gladys Cook. “We are also thrilled to partner with Saks Fifth Avenue Boca Raton for the third consecutive year and to raise funds for lymphoma research.”
All those interested are invited to attend this inspiring social event, which begins at 10:30 am at St. Andrews Country Club. Individual tickets for the luncheon start at $125 each. All proceeds from the event will support LRF’s mission to eradicate lymphoma and serve those touched by the disease.
