Lyttle Jimmie Visits CHOA Patient for A Day of Fun
Buford, GA (PRWEB) October 14, 2014 -- Lyttle Jimmie the duck recently became a part of the Jim Ellis Buick GMC Mall of Georgia (MOG) family and can often be seen attending events in Buford and surrounding areas. Lyttle Jimmie is making quite the name for himself in the Buford community with appearances at events such as the Gwinnet Braves, Suwanee Fest, the annual Duck Derby and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA).
In addition to making appearances at local events, Lyttle Jimmie has found time to brighten up the day of many ill children. Lyttle Jimmie met 3-year-old Landon in the CHOA hospital while there visiting with a Buick GMC MOG staff member’s child that was also at CHOA for a blood clot on the brain. It became quickly obvious that Lyttle Jimmie was a positive distraction for these children from their daily struggles with illness and pain.
After meeting Landon at the hospital Lyttle Jimmie learned about Landon’s Scoliosis and Spina Bifida diagnoses. Most recently he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Esophagitis, which is inflammation that damages the tissues of the esophagus. Lyttle Jimmie had the pleasure of spending some time with Landon and was captivated by his joy and infectious smile. After being released from CHOA, Landon even came to the Jim Ellis Buick GMC MOG store to visit with Lyttle Jimmie again.
Landon’s resilience and adoring personality won him the pick for Jim Ellis Buick GMC Mall of Georgia’s August Super Kid! As winner of this title, Landon also received a visit to Zoo Atlanta and had the honor of serving as an official “Play Ball Boy” with Lyttle Jimmie at a Gwinnett Braves game. Both Lyttle Jimmie and Landon got to ride in the back of Lyttle Jimmie’s truck with the Gwinnett Braves’ mascot, Chopper, to throw out t-shirts during the 7th Inning Stretch.
“Landon certainly is as strong as the man of steel himself and a great lesson on encouragement and endearment,” said Jim Ellis Buick GMC Mall of Georgia employee Leanne Knight.
Lyttle Jimmie spent the afternoon playing with Landon and looks forward to returning to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to meet other children and offer them some fun moments of distraction!
Lyttle Jimmie now has 755 friends on Facebook and loves looking at each tagged picture and new friend request. Each Wednesday on Lyttle Jimmie’s Facebook page he has a Hump day riddle contest. The first person to post the correct answer to the riddle wins a t-shirt and free car wash.
