MacKeeper Partners with Google's Geolocation Service and the MapQuest Web Mapping Service
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) November 10, 2013 -- MacKeeper has announced their partnership with Google's Geolocation Service and the MapQuest Web Mapping Service for their Anti Theft feature. The new technology partnership allows MacKeeper's Anti Theft to more accurately pinpoint the location of a missing computer and even identify the wifi networks and trace IP addresses used. MacKeeper has returned hundreds of machines since the application was launched in 2010, using only a IP location report and a web camera photo of the person using the computer. This new technology incorporated in to the software is expected to dramatically increase the success rate of returned machines.
“This partnership will allow MacKeeper's Anti Theft software to be more accurate and provide more information that can help find lost or stolen computers” said Alex Kernishniuk of Kromtech Allience Corporation.
MacKeeper is a software application that has a total of 16 unique tools bundled together and are broken down to the primary functions of cleaning, security and optimization. One of the most powerful security features of the MacKeeper software is the unique Anti Theft feature. If a user's computer is ever lost or stolen they can call MacKeeper's support or log in to their account from another computer and report the computer stolen.
Once the computer is reported as stolen in the user's Kromtech account MacKeeper will activate the next time the machine goes online. The software will then turn on the web camera, generate an advanced location report using Google's Geolocation and the MapQuest Coordinates. This information can then be taken to the police and can be a priceless tool when recovering a lost or stolen computer.
