MAD Communications Wins PRSA Gold Mercury and Best of Show Awards for the TEEG 2013 Annual Report
Thompson, CT (PRWEB) June 18, 2014 -- Each year the Connecticut chapter of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-CVC) honors the best creative and strategic PR work through the prestigious Mercury Awards. MAD Communications, a marketing and creative services firm in East Hampton, earned two top awards and a perfect score from judges for the TEEG 2013 Annual Report.
TEEG is a not-for-profit community social service agency serving the needs of residents in Northeast Connecticut. The 2013 Annual Report communicated the story of TEEG through baseball. With the theme, “Your Home Team,” the report portrayed the value and service that TEEG provides with vibrant photography by local photographer Mike Bernier and stunning graphics by Laura Moorehead of Angell House Design in Central Village.
MAD Communications has worked with TEEG since 2004 to develop and create award-winning annual reports that are renown throughout the Northeast Corner community. The expectation for the 2013 report was to raise the bar higher in terms of visual appeal, message and fundraising. The campaign succeeded in all goals raising more money than in any previous year with more than $107,000 in direct donations.
“We are honored to once again receive a Gold Mercury Award from our peers through PRSA and are truly humbled to win the coveted Best in Show,” said Mary Ann Dostaler, president of MAD Communications. “TEEG is an incredible organization that is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people in need. We are proud to support them in the work they do by telling their story in dynamic ways that engage audiences.”
“Working on the TEEG annual report is always creative and fun. But behind it all, knowing that the final product will help raise awareness and funds for their very important mission is what really matters,” said Laura Moorehad, owner of Angell House Design. “Winning these awards is just the icing on a very big cake.”
“TEEG is so fortunate to be the benefactor of the creative time and talent of MAD Communications, Angell House Design and Express Photo - Photography by Michael Bernier,” said Donna Grant, TEEG Executive Director. “Each year this team works with us to tell our story the TEEG way – with passion, authenticity and originality. Their professional contributions have enabled us to grow, serve more people and make a bigger difference in Northeast Connecticut.”
MAD Communications, which celebrates its 17th anniversary this year as an independent creative agency, specializes in providing PR, content marketing, social media and web development services to
businesses and organizations committed to making a difference in their categories.
Their clients include The Farmer’s Cow, Nurtur Health, NoRA Cupcake Company,

The PRSA Mercury Awards, named for the Roman god of Commerce and Travelers - the messenger and guide of the gods, are designed to honor creative and strategic excellence and to encourage a higher level of professional performance. Sponsored by the Connecticut Valley, Southern Connecticut and Westchester/Fairfield County Chapters of the Public Relations Society of America, the 2014 Mercury Awards were held at the Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington.
