Boston, MA (PRWEB) February 24, 2014 -- The National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF), a central voice for patient safety since 1997, is pleased to announce that the MagMutual Patient Safety Institute has joined the NPSF Patient Safety Coalition. MagMutual, based in Atlanta, is a leading provider of medical professional liability insurance to physicians and hospitals, particularly throughout the Southeastern U.S. The MagMutual Patient Safety Institute is a division of the organization focused on providing risk management and patient safety resources. It is the first affiliate of an insurance company to join the NPSF Patient Safety Coalition.

The NPSF Patient Safety Coalition was created to align stakeholders from across the continuum of care in a unifying mission to make health care safer for all. Membership is open to professional associations, advocacy organizations, solutions providers working to address patient safety challenges, and other entities. Members of the Coalition are provided unique opportunities for networking, learning, and knowledge sharing through quarterly conference calls, an annual member meeting, and periodic webinars, among other benefits.
