Main Street Project Announces $150,000 in Grant Funding from the 11th Hour Project
Northfield, MN (PRWEB) September 12, 2016 -- Main Street Project (http://www.mainstreetproject.org) announced today that the nonprofit has been awarded a $150,000 grant from the 11th Hour Project. This grant is the first installment of a total award of $300,000 over two years. The funds will support Main Street Project’s work in developing a poultry-centered regenerative food system with the power to change how food is produced around the world.
Main Street Project is currently developing plans for an integrated central farm featuring poultry units, egg-layer units, and perennial and annual crops. The central farm will be built as a demonstration and training center as well as a hub for further research and development of Main Street Project’s regenerative model.
“We thank the 11th Hour Project for continuing to support organizations like ours that are working to move all of us closer to sustainable solutions for our planet,” said Niel Ritchie, chief executive officer of Main Street Project. “Together with our partners, Main Street Project is developing an alternative food system to reverse the destructive trends of industrial agriculture.”
