Major Billion Dollar Projects see the Construction Boom in Sydney is Set to Stay
Sydney, Australia (PRWEB UK) 30 April 2015 -- The construction industry in Sydney is looking brighter than ever. According to the Australian Construction Industry Forum (ACIF), the dollar value of building work done on commercial office space throughout New South Wales is predicted to rise from $1.694 billion in 2013/14 to more than $2 billion by 2016/17. A number of large projects, including the $10 billion redevelopment of Sydney Central Station precinct, the $660 million Quay Quarter Sydney project and the Bays Precinct urban renewal development, are major influencers in Sydney's current construction boom.
The boom in Sydney appears to be of general consensus; Phil Jacob and Geoff Chambers (Daily Telegraph) have described Sydney to be a “Boomtown” as “Cranes crowd the Sydney skyline as construction takes off.” With large projects such as Barangaroo and many other urban renewal developments ongoing across the capital and New South Wales, it is clear the city is experiencing an exciting state of growth and sustainable development for the future, transforming itself into a global metropolis and financial hub.
Andrew Heaton (Sourceable), whilst talking about the boom in new residential buildings, stated that “Housing has picked up and a flurry of new commercial developments are under-way,” which is resulting in an abundance of opportunities for companies working in the sector. The Housing Industry Association (HIA) believe that the Government are expected to heavily contribute to the current construction boom by following through on delivering more than 50,000 new houses and apartments from 2014-2015.
Oliver Kinross are thrilled to be a part of the prospering industry, organising the leading new Construction Expo for Sydney taking place at the Sydney Exhibition Centre on the 10th & 11th March, 2016.
