Major, Lindsey & Africa Places Chief Legal and Chief Compliance Officer of CONCACAF
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 23, 2016 -- Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the placement of Guilherme (Bill) Carvalho in the newly created position of Chief Legal and Chief Compliance Officer of the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) in Miami, effective August 23, 2016. The international search was led by Brian Davis and Rosalind Dodd, both based in MLA’s New York office.
In his new role, Carvalho will lead the legal and compliance areas of the Confederation, including managing the legal affairs and overseeing the daily operations of CONCACAF’s compliance and integrity programs.
Carvalho joins CONCACAF from Yahoo! Inc., where he was Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Americas and U.S. Hispanic, a role he held since 2005. He was responsible for all legal affairs and public policy matters for a wide range of the company’s businesses and subsidiaries throughout the region. Prior to Yahoo! Inc., he was a member of the Latin America practice group at White & Case, LLP. He speaks fluent English, Spanish and Portuguese, and holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center as well as a B.A. in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles.
