Making WHOIS Fun: Whibse Provides Fully Parsed, Bulk WHOIS Lookups
Portland, OR (PRWEB) July 23, 2013 -- Whibse, Inc., a technology company headquartered in Portland, Oregon, announced that it would be launching a service that provides a new way to perform domain name registration, or “WHOIS”, lookups.
The new WHOIS retrieval service is available in pre-beta, or “alpha,” version at whibse.com.
Whibse’s WHOIS service makes it easy to lookup multiple domain name registration records at once, and exports the results in a clean, easy to manage, spreadsheet format. All fields, such as the registrant name, phone number, street address, city, country, IP address, registrar, and more, are fully parsed into separate columns in spreadsheet format, making it easy to sort and organize.
“Currently, there is no web interface enabling the lookup and retrieval of fully parsed bulk WHOIS data,” said Whibse President John Horton. “This can be utilized for important brand protection, research, investigative and technical purposes.”
Whibse’s WHOIS lookup and parsing service is being provided for free to the public for the service’s “alpha” status. Users will initially be able to request and parse up to 1,000 WHOIS records in a 24-hour period.
The company identified Internet compliance firms, brand protection companies, domain name registrars, investigative firms, government agencies and individuals or companies with multiple domain names as potential Whibse users. “Our goal is to make it simple and painless to access and organize open-source domain name registration records,” the company said.
The company also introduced its logo, a “WHOIS Monster” named “Noc Noc.” Parsed WHOIS records are emailed to customers by the “Parsing Monster,” who resembles a blue dinosaur.
