Manufacturer Responds to UK Seizure and Amazon.uk Ban on “Smart Drugs”
Venice,California (PRWEB) January 28, 2015 -- This week, Amazon.UK began removing “smart drugs,” also known as cognitive enhancers or nootropics from its website. The move is part of a larger effort by England’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to regulate and in some cases, ban certain types of cognitive enhancement medicines.
The leading brain health supplement in the United States, excelerol® was also removed from Amazon.uk, leaving many customers without access.
Since its inception over five years ago, Accelerated Intelligence Inc. has prided itself on manufacturing products with scientifically studied ingredients and doctor recommended supplements to support brain health. Our products, especially excelerol®, remain one of the top physician recommended supplements for patients dealing with a host of issues related to brain health.
“Doctors from around the world prescribe our products to their patients with the utmost confidence.” said Accelerated Intelligence CEO, Shaahin Cheyene. “Actions by British authorities to ban some of the ingredients in our product reflects a short sightedness and fundamental misunderstanding of the value natural supplements bring to patients. Especially to those who are working with their doctors to achieve tangible health improvements without the harmful side effects of pharmaceutical drugs.”
“Every day our company receives phone calls and letters thanking us for the difference excelerol® is making in their lives. Our customers include members of the US and British Special Forces, doctors, lawyers and people from all walks of life. We understand the British government's concerns. However, a wholesale ban on these ingredients, without any substantive evidence that they can be harmful, is maybe taking power away from the people and putting it in the hands of the government and big pharma.” Cheyene added
"Many proponents have argued that the ban is the result of heavy lobbying by big pharmaceutical companies to eliminate growing competition from nutraceutical firms creating natural alternatives to commonly prescribed medications." Added Cheyene
Accelerated Intelligence Inc. is spearheading an effort to mobilize industry wide resources to appeal the seizure.
