Maple Leaf Farms Earns Global Food Safety Certification for Third Year
Leesburg, Ind. (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- For the third straight year, Maple Leaf Farms has earned a certification through the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Recognition as a GFSI institution is accomplished through a comprehensive benchmarking process in food safety management systems, which are designed to ensure the delivery of safe food to consumers worldwide.

To earn the GFSI certification, Maple Leaf Farms operations had to undergo an audit by an independent third party team. The audit followed the British Retail Consortium (BRC) technical standards that specify requirements that ensure the production, packaging, storage and distribution of safe food and consumer products.
