Mapping a Global View of Food Safety: BRC Global Standards Releases New Report on Safety and Performance Around the World

Each year, BRC Global Standards collects vast amounts of data and information during audits. In 2012, BRC conducted audits in 113 countries, covering over 16,000 food sites. For the first time, BRC is able to fully analyse this data and identify vital trends and developments.
The report sets out key findings and analysis from the 2012 audits. It provides a global view of food safety information and performance data, covering all 18 categories in the Food Standard. The report also focuses on key regions and countries, offering unique local insights and snapshots, mapping areas of strength and weakness and showcasing growth markets. It highlights important learnings on food safety issues that affect manufacturers, retailers and consumers around the world.
BRC Global Standards publishes a series of standards that cover the full supply chain, including food safety, packaging and packaging materials, storage and distribution, consumer products, and agents and brokers. The standards guarantee the standardisation of quality, safety and operational criteria and ensure that manufacturers fulfil their legal obligations and provide protection for the end consumer.
