Marathon Health Partners with Cargill to Provide Employees and their Families with Health and Wellness Services
Wichita, Kan. (PRWEB) January 12, 2016 -- Marathon Health today announced a new initiative with Wichita-based Cargill Meat Solutions Corporation to offer health services to almost 13,000 union employees, spouses and dependents in six new health centers near Cargill Meat Solutions’ plants in Fort Morgan, Colo.; Friona and Fort Worth, Texas; Albert Lea, Minn.: and Schuyler and Nebraska City, Neb.
The initiative is part of a partnership with http://www..marathon-health.com/ [Marathon Health, Inc. __title__ ], whose clinicians will provide health management services - acute care, health assessments, lifestyle coaching and chronic condition management for Cargill hourly employees and their dependents – at health centers scheduled to open next year. Marathon Health will provide wellness and healthcare services utilizing its MedicalHome@Work™ model as the foundation for care delivery.
Marathon Health will be meeting the needs of Cargill employees with a staff consisting of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and medical assistants. Marathon Health is currently recruiting for those positions and accepting applications at http://www.marathon-health.com.
After a detailed analysis of potential vendors, Cargill’s team chose Marathon Health based on its responsiveness, proven ability to improve client health, and reputation as a leader in the market.
“Cargill is committed to improving the health of employees and their families, including services that promote early detection and treatment of identified chronic conditions,” said Jeni McGill, senior consultant of health and welfare programs for Cargill in North America. “Marathon Health’s innovative health center will also leverage existing community healthcare resources as part of a collaborative effort to improve the coordination of care and eliminate fragmented delivery.”
The Marathon Health model moves away from ‘sick care’ toward a solution focused on the whole person, not just their symptoms. Through this approach, the onsite clinicians will help employees achieve their goals of leading healthier and longer lives.
Marathon Health Vice President of Sales Tim Sykes said he applauds Cargill’s thorough vetting process and believes this partnership will help to reduce the company’s increasing burden of healthcare costs.
“Marathon Health provides the most comprehensive delivery system for care, coaching and guidance in the workplace,” he said. “We are fortunate to have this opportunity to serve the needs of Cargill employees and their dependents, and we look forward to demonstrating the value Marathon Health is known for,” he said.
