Marcel’s Culinary Experience, Glen Ellyn, Ill. (Chicago Suburb), Announces 4Q Cooking Classes, Events
Glen Ellyn, IL (PRWEB) September 04, 2014 -- As it completes its third year in business, Marcel’s Culinary Experience (http://www.marcelsculinaryexperience.com) has announced its fourth quarter schedule of classes, demonstrations and other events that continue its mission of bringing food lovers of all ages and skill levels together to “cook, create and celebrate.”
The gourmet retail store and recreational cooking school in downtown Glen Ellyn, Ill. (Chicago suburb) has confirmed the latest entries in its special guest series with demonstration events hosted by “The Hungry Hound” Steve Dolinsky (Oct. 22); Indian cooking expert/author Anupy Singla (Nov. 1), Daily Herald food editor Deb Pankey (Dec. 9); and chef/author Gale Gand (Dec. 13).
“We’re thrilled to have these special guests at Marcel’s, where class participants can engage with them in a small group setting,” said Marcel’s owner Jill Foucré. “The events typically sell out fast, in some cases with standing room only.”
Rounding out the fourth quarter schedule are more than 60 additional hands-on and demonstration classes, many focused on seasonal ingredients (root vegetables and other fall produce, Beaujolais Nouveau) seasonal dishes (fall soups and stews, tamales) and year-end holiday themes (make ahead baking, Thanksgiving bootcamp, hors d’oeuvres in 10 minutes).
Young cooks ages 6-8, 9-11 and 12-16 will find classes designed specifically for them and scheduled on weekends and school holidays. Themes include “No School Cupcake Wars” (based on the popular Food Network program), Halloween for kids and adults, gingerbread house making and holiday baking.
“For all classes, participants not only learn new things they can share with family and friends, but they get to sit down together and enjoy eating what they’ve made in class. Hands-on classes for adults include wine and beer. Some classes are specifically designed for couples,’” said Foucré, adding that Chicago Magazine named Marcel’s 2014’s best cooking school for date night (http://tinyurl.com/kuonb6o).
Marcel’s will also continue its popular series of free daytime demonstrations led by its retail staff, customers and special guests – mainly on Tuesdays and no registration required.

Weekends book up fast, as does the entire month of December,” said Foucré.
