Montrose, CA (PRWEB) July 25, 2013 -- Montrose Travel is pleased to announce that Maria Saenz has attended a four-day, extensive in-country training program at the American Society of Travel Agents’ (ASTA) International Destination Expo (IDE) in Dubai earlier this year. The expo, which is the industry’s premier destination training event, takes travel agents beyond the classroom and gives them first-hand experiences and in-depth local knowledge to share with their clients.

During the IDE, Saenz took advantage of advanced training during product seminars and exploration tours. One of the most beneficial seminars titled “Canopy of Culture” studied the culture, tradition, and history of the United Arab Emirates. Understanding the traditional attire and the pride associated with wearing traditional Emiratis clothing is an important factor to consider when travelling to this destination. Product seminars and tours also give attendees the opportunity to experience the beauty of the desert and all activities available.
Maria Saenz was also able to take part in a variety of half- and full-day sightseeing trips in and around Dubai, as well as longer tours that showcased some of Dubai’s exciting surrounding countries such as Jordan, Oman and Egypt. Saenz also visited numerous hotel inspections, experienced a desert safari, and enjoyed a tour through the magnificent mosque in Abu Dhabi.
The IDE is not only an event for travel agents but also suppliers and retail sellers. More than 625 travel professionals attended the event, and reported having made substantial United Arab Emirates business contacts.
