Marina Del Rey Hospital Announces the Acquisition of Brainlab’s Curve Image-Guided Surgery Platform and 3D C-Arm Navigation Software
Marina Del Rey, CA (PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- This month Marina Del Rey Hospital’s world renowned spine program purchased and installed the Brainlab's Curve™ image-guided surgery platform and 3D C-Arm navigation software.
The 3-D C-Arm is designed to provide orthopedic spine surgeons with real-time navigation during complex spine and trauma procedures. Marina Del Rey Hospital already owns and operates with Brainlab'sNaviVision® 3D navigation system.
“We are committed to providing patients with clinically proven, cutting-edge surgical care that improves outcomes,“ said Marina Del Rey Hospital CEO, Fred Hunter. “We believe that Brainlab’s technology enables us to that.”
The Curve™ image-guided surgery platform will significantly enhance conventional navigation and will help orthopedic spine surgeons to improve ergonomics. The 3D C-Arm navigation offers a series of benefits to surgeons enhancing visualization and automatically registering patient data.
3D C-Arm navigation benefits:
• more accurate screw placement
• possibly reduced re-operation rates
• reduced radiation exposure to both patients and OR team
“The 3D C-arm navigation truly revolutionizes our work,” said spine surgeon Dr. Robert G. Watkins III. “It provides us with a real-time navigation of intra-operative 3D data sets.”
