Marion County, Mo., Recorder Implements Simplifile E-Recording Technology
MARION COUNTY, Mo. (PRWEB) April 03, 2014 -- Marion County, Mo., has implemented electronic recording (e-recording) of documents through Simplifile, the largest e-recording service provider in the nation, allowing document filers to utilize a more convenient, cost effective recording method via the Internet.
“I wanted Marion County to be brought up with the current technology that is out there,” said Marion County Recorder of Deeds Janet Dearing. “The main convenience is how quickly a document can be filed as opposed to sending it in the mail. If there is an error in the document, we can reject it and the sender can fix the document and send it back for recording - all in a matter of a few hours. Otherwise, it has to be sent back and forth in the mail. There are also time-sensitive documents that are overnighted to us. E-Recording will greatly reduce the cost of sending those documents.”
Using Simplifile’s web-based service, document submitters ranging from title companies, banks, lien filers, to attorneys, and other organizations, can securely scan or upload and send documents to the recorder’s office directly from their computer or work site, eliminating mailing costs and paper waste.
“It is also more convenient for our document filers that are out of town,” Dearing added.
Simplifile’s service also enables customers to forego writing and mailing checks to the recorder’s office as they can securely process payments to reconcile recording fees electronically via electronic funds transfer when they e-record.
