Belmont, CA (PRWEB) September 03, 2013 -- BlogHer, Inc., the premium cross-platform media network and publisher for women, today announced that best-selling author Porter Gale and entrepreneurial musician Daria Musk will be featured keynote speakers at the 2nd Annual BlogHer PRO Conference.
BlogHer PRO is an immersive two-day event for professional bloggers who want to build their businesses. Porter Gale and Daria Musk embody how far online influence and social networking can take brands of every size.
“The influencers in the BlogHer community are taking on the roles of publisher, editor-in-chief, creative genius, and hard-nosed operator with an eye on the bottom line,” said BlogHer co-founder and COO Elisa Camahort Page. “Porter and Daria are trailblazing women who are both making the most of their creative spark with stellar business acumen.”
Porter Gale will kick off BlogHer PRO on Tuesday October 22. A marketing expert with more than 20 years of experience in branding, social media, advertising and filmmaking, including five years as Vice President of Marketing at Virgin America, Porter published her first book, “Your Network Is Your Net Worth,” earlier this year. An exploration into the power of networks, and how a person’s potential worth is based on whom we can access, Porter’s book is a handbook for today’s media/social entrepreneur. At BlogHer PRO, Porter will share insights from her book and from her career journey.
"In a world where 'who you know' can span thousands of connections across a dozen social platforms, social media influencers like the attendees of BlogHer PRO are well-positioned to grow their online platforms into profitable businesses." said Porter Gale. “I look forward to sharing my experience and helping attendees discover new ways to maximize their network and speed their success.”
Daria Musk will close BlogHer PRO with a lively Q&A and a musical performance. Before the summer of 2011 Daria Musk was a young singer/songwriter with big dreams, an entrepreneurial streak, and a global-sized heart. A weekend of lugging her guitar amps through the rain and an invitation to a new social network sparked the idea to perform a live concert via Google+'s video chat feature, "Hangouts." Girl in the woods of Connecticut turned early-adopter and went global overnight. Daria is breaking new ground, pushing the boundaries in music, tech and social media.
"Over the last two years I've learned how to ‘Crash The Party’ of the old media models and I've experienced the life-changing thrill of creating a global audience using the new social tools at our fingertips. From practical tips like ‘scalable authenticity’ to philosophical quips like, ‘pick a dream bigger than a lifetime,’ I'm so looking forward to sharing my lessons learned with the community gathering at BlogHer PRO. I think we're in the embers-stage of a phoenix rising in arts, technology and business! Bloggers (and singers) are the voices that get to tell the story and decide what rises from the ashes!”
