MarketSphere Hires Unclaimed Property Director David P. Poehler to Guide Clients through Escheatment and Audits

In this advisory role, he will work with Fortune 1000 and mid-sized companies to assess clients’ abandoned and unclaimed property circumstances, mitigate risks and resolve issues. He also will act as a client advocate and liaison with state unclaimed property administrators and auditors during audits, with a goal of minimizing negative impact on holder organizations and their employees.

Before coming to MarketSphere, Poehler was a senior manager with the unclaimed property auditing firm Kelmar Associates, LLC, where he led a team that conducted more than 200 multi-state general ledger unclaimed property examinations of companies in major industries covering a wide variety of property types. Previously, he served as a senior associate in financial and economic consulting for Huron Consulting Group, LLC, where he conducted forensic reviews to quantify damages for corporate clients.
Specialist in Unclaimed Property Audits and Voluntary Disclosure Assessments (VDAs)
Poehler’s primary areas of expertise include multi-state audit management and defense, exposure analysis, and negotiation and management of voluntary disclosure agreements (VDAs). He also conducts initial compliance reviews and provides expert analysis and guidance during development and improvement of unclaimed property policies and procedures.
