Marshall B. Ketchum University Announces Its 2015 V-Award Honorees for the Fifth Annual MBKU Gala
FULLERTON, CA (PRWEB) June 21, 2015 -- Marshall B. Ketchum University announced honorees for its fifth annual gala event, which will take place Thursday October 1, 2015 at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda, CA. The Annual Gala at MBKU supports efforts in both Low Vision and Children’s Vision. This year, with the addition of a College of Health Sciences and planned College of Pharmacy, Marshall B. Ketchum University has broadened the vision of this special event to include both health care education and community health.
“We are thrilled to be honoring three vital members of our community who have shown outstanding dedication to furthering health care,” said University Advancement Vice President Paul Stover, M.Ed. “Their work is spectacular; we are excited to recognize each of them for the impact they have on real lives here in Orange County and around the world.”
The gala will feature the fifth annual V-Awards, which will recognize Blind Children’s Learning Center, Richard D. Jones, J.D. & Family, and pharmaceutical leader Alcon, a Novartis company for their many contributions to community health, wellness and well-being. The V-Award has become one of MBKU’s most prestigious awards for charitable and volunteer service benefiting the greater community. The Vita (Latin for "life" or a "way of life") Award, or V-Award, symbolizes the impact that our honorees have on their fellow humankind, doing good work and showing compassion and support for others.
“What our honorees do for the advancement of health care and education is vital to the communities they serve,” added University President Kevin Alexander, O.D., Ph.D. “I am so glad we have the opportunity to recognize their compassion and hard work; they have my sincere gratitude and support.”

MBKU is now home to the Southern California College of Optometry and the College of Health Sciences. The University confers a four-year, professional degree, Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) and a Master of Science in Vision Science (M.S.) degree.
